Jane Downes

Jane Downes

Retired Deputy Head, Jane Downes, has always managed to include country dancing in her teaching. 'It started when I was handed some ancient 78 rpm records and a hand book, by my first Head in Surrey, in the 60s - the Evening Class teacher had broken her leg ... and I never looked back!'

As the caller for the Sussex country dance band, the Catsfield Steamers, Jane thoroughly enjoys bringing the fun of dance and the great rhythms of the music to the public, of all ages, and it shows
